The Problem

The first result is an ad
Search "luxury hotels" in any city and the top of the page is paid placement (one of them advertising a "Big Summer Sale"). Luxury doesn't go on clearance. You're being sold to, not advised.

One site advertising luxury hotels returns 80 results on page one, with a Motel 6 sitting beside two genuinely exceptional resorts. A review score of 7.5 against 8.5 is the only guidance on offer, and it tells you nothing about which one is yours.
